David Joel, Managing Director of Lanson Consultants, has over 35 years of experience in delivering improvements in business performance and competitive advantage to government and commercial organisations.
David specialises in business performance improvement and board-level coaching and effectiveness reviews built upon experience in leading political, cultural and people change programmes for large, complex bids. These include the £3.2 billion outsourcing of the Atomic Weapons Establishment on behalf of Lockheed Martin, British Nuclear Fuels and Serco, and leading multi-disciplinary teams to penetrate the US defence marketplace.
David is President of the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce where he has an ambassadorial remit with outside organisations as well as an internal function supporting the chamber board, holding fellow directors to account and providing corporate governance. He is a former chairman of the Portsmouth and East Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, former board member of Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and former member of the council of governors for the Queen Alexandra Hospital.
David is a Course Leader at the Institute of Directors where he delivers modules as part of the Diploma in Company Direction and interviews potential candidates for Chartered Director. He has worked with organisations such as the MoD, NHS, Office Depot, Mainetti, Cassidian, Commerzbank, Skanska, Travis Perkins and First Group.
